U-Pass Student Transit Program 

The George Washington University has joined the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s (WMATA) U-Pass program providing full-time students with unlimited use of Metrorail and Metrobus for a discounted, flat fee.

Campus Shuttles

GW Shuttles provides a fixed route transportation service between our three campuses.  These shuttles provide a convenient means for students, faculty, staff and the GW community to travel between the Foggy Bottom, the Mount Vernon and the Virginia Science and Technology campuses. Riders will be required to show their GWorld card upon boarding in order to utilize the GW shuttle services. 

Mount Vernon Express (VEX)

The Mount Vernon Express runs between the Foggy Bottom and the Mount Vernon campuses. 

VSTC Express

The VSTC Express runs between the Foggy Bottom and the Virginia Science and Technology Campuses.

Innovation Center Metro Shuttle

The Innovation Center Shuttle stops at several points in Loudoun County, the Innovation Center Metro Station, and the Virginia Science and Technology Campus.

Circulator

The DC Circulator also offers convenient downtown service between Georgetown & Union Station as well as the National Mall. Regional rail services are provided by Virginia Rail Express, Maryland’s MARC Train, & Amtrak.

GW-Capital Bikeshare Partnership

GW has partnered with Capital Bikeshare to offer you an annual discounted membership so that you have more options to get where you need to go. 

At the end of the membership period, there is no obligation to continue riding.
